Donation of the Documentation Centre
Since its opening, the Center for Delegations and Non-Governmental Organizations located in Valavran (commune of Bellevue in Geneva) in 1997, Mandat International set up a Documentation Center collecting various publications on many local and international NGOs around the world.
Our Documentation Center collected and received most publications from International Organizations in Geneva, bringing together a unique collection of over 17,000 documents, magazines, videos and online resources relating to the field of International Cooperation.
We were also repositories in Switzerland of publications from the World Bank. As such, we received documents, which we put at the disposal of delegates and the public.
In 2012, recognizing the growing importance of online resources and after an assessment of avalable ressources, Mandat International decided to donate its documentary collection to ensure its full use.
In collaboration with our partner, the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, an agreement was established with the Training Unit in Law and Political Science at the University of Ouagadougou to receive and maintain the documentary collection.
Thanks to the help of volunteers from the Association of Burkinabé Students in Geneva, the collection was packed into cardboards boxes and transported to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The publications have been deposited in public libraries of the University of Ouagadougou and intended primarily for students.
It is with great pleasure that Mandat International has cemented a lasting collaboration, which will allow students from Burkina Faso to have access to documents in the fields of International Cooperation.
